Laura Taylor, MS, LCMHCS
Hi, I’m Laura Taylor. I’ve worked in the mental health field for over 25 years and currently see clients at Greenway Counseling & Wellness.
Along with supporting clients, I also help support our team behind the scenes to help things run smoothly for both clients and therapists.
Many of the people I work with are used to being the “helper” in their relationships, careers, or families and are trying to find a healthier balance for themselves.
My work often focuses on trauma, anxiety, relationship dynamics, life transitions, and helping people move forward in a more grounded and sustainable way.
I tend to work best with people who are ready to move forward—even if they’re not exactly sure how yet.
Many of the people I work with are used to being responsible for others, and part of our work involves learning how to stay accountable to themselves without over-functioning in relationships.
This often includes caregivers, helping professionals, and others who naturally take on a lot for the people around them, as well as those who are working through the impact of past or more recent experiences.
I primarily use EMDR, along with other approaches, to help work through patterns and beliefs that can keep people feeling stuck.
Recently, I returned to seeing a small number of clients when it’s a good fit and aligns with my availability. When my schedule is full, our team can help connect you with a therapist who fits your needs.
As the owner of Greenway Counseling & Wellness, I stay involved in the day-to-day operations of the practice and support our team in their work with clients. Much of what I do happens behind the scenes—helping our clinicians think through situations and offering support when needed, and making sure things are running in a way that allows them to focus on their clients.
I’m not doing this work alone—we have a strong team that cares about the work they do. Our administrative staff also play an important role in keeping things running day to day. You can learn more about my background and areas of focus in my clinical profile.
Outside of the work that I do in this practice…
I love watching movies—suspense, comedies, dramas… just about anything. I also enjoy making things—art, crafts, and all kinds of projects (including plenty I haven’t gotten around to yet).
Animals are a big part of my life. My husband and I recently adopted my parents’ two cats, and over the years we’ve had many cats and dogs who still mean a lot to us.
I also really value time outdoors, especially walking in nature. It’s one of the reasons I chose our office location—we’re close to trails and outdoor spaces that both I and some clients enjoy.
