What are ‘walk and talk’ sessions?
A walk-and-talk therapy session offers the opportunity to meet with your therapist while walking together outdoors rather than sitting in a traditional office setting. For some clients, gentle movement and time in nature can make conversation feel more comfortable and help them feel less stuck or tense. Sessions begin and end at our office, with walks taking place on the paved trails just behind and around our building. Your therapist will help you decide whether a walk-and-talk session is appropriate based on your preferences, privacy considerations, and the weather.
Different varieties of mushrooms growing along the paths and trees, turtles, great blue herons, egrets, Canada geese, mallard ducks and ducklings, deer, owls, squirrels, and chipmunks are just a few of the many signs of life you may encounter along the trails around our office. With streams, a large lake, and scenery that changes with each season, there is always something new to notice and appreciate outdoors. *All photos are taken from walks outside of our office at Greenway!
